"When my husband and I got engaged, we knew it was the perfect time to plan a family vacation/destination wedding. After some research we decided we would tie the knot in Riviera Maya, Mexico! So the planning began. We soon realized that having a legal ceremony in Mexico was not quite as easy as it seemed. Wanting to avoid the stress, we opted to become legally married in Winnipeg. Marla came right to our house, and kept the ceremony as simple as we had requested. Marla was very easy to work with and extremely accommodating! She is knowledgeable about all types of weddings (destination included!). She understands the legalities involved in both a home town wedding or a destination wedding. She gave us great advice and helped us through this process very smoothly. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, chose a wedding commissioner that can take some of the weight off your shoulders! Marla was very friendly, down to earth and even helped with making suggestions with our event planner on how the ceremony would be set up the night of our rehearsal to ensure everything would flow smoothly. She was very professional with how she introduced herself to not just us but our parents and wedding party. Her attire was very clean and business like. We didn't want a long drawn out service which was exactly what she delivered. Her communication skills were very clear and presented herself with a friendly upbeat personality. We both would highly recommend Marla for her services. She is very responsible and takes charge with looking after the paper work as we went on about enjoying our day together. "We contacted a few wedding commissioners in regards to our July 2015 wedding. Marla was our top choice, giving off a sense of professionalism and yet still being very personable. We were mainly in contact over the phone, and she was very accommodating of us being out-of-towners. We met up a few weeks before the wedding, to make sure nothing unexpected would be happening. Marla was very considerate to confirm with us that she didn't have fangs, and that our wedding would be safe in her hands.
Her prices were very affordable, and the service was excellent. She even made some extra time for us, when the bride told her the wrong time for the rehearsal. Thanks again! She put up with our last minute vow changes, and had a script available for us, if we caught a case of stage freight. Everything was well organized and she dealt with all the government forms for us, we just waited for the certificate in the mail. I believe she even coordinated her summer vacation around our wedding date! She snapped a pre-wedding selfie, and it's something fun we can cherish for our lifetime. Our ceremony was beautiful, and Marla fit in perfectly. We will never forget our special day, and would love to thank Marla for being apart of it. Your wedding day, is a once in a lifetime moment, we would highly recommend Marla for anyone."

"Gary and I were married on April 25, 2015 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. As with any bride and groom we wanted our day to be very special. We were very fortunate to find Marla as our Marriage Commissioner after months of looking for a marriage commissioner with no success, my son agreed to go through the process to marry us. Until I came across Marla’s website, I just knew it was meant to be after a brief initial conversation with her.
All the way through the process Marla was amazing, from helping us with our wedding vows that turned out amazing, to documents that needed to be signed, to keeping my nerves calm the day of our wedding.
